Water and soil conservation is essential to protecting Iowa's agricultural roots and creating steps toward a more sustainable future. Iowa's farmers are making progress every planting season. Studies have shown that no-till seeding is one of the most successful conservation practices, and non-legume cover crops can reduce soil erosion by up to 100% compared to fields without cover crops.
