We utilize several conservation practices, including cover crops, no-till, terraces, grass waterways and turning the tillable ground to hay and pasture.

What needs for soil health and water quality do you see in your region/county?

We need a greater focus on cover crops and a nutrient management strategy to keep the nutrients in place on the farm.

What could be done with more public funding for soil and water quality?

We need a conservation assistant or a conservation advisor. An agronomist to help people get through the first few years of cover crops and nutrient management to help them understand and learn this process.
